Notre Dame announced today that three of its current football players will not be playing in the 2015 season. Greg Bryant, Mike Heuerman and Michael Deeb.
Running back Greg Bryant was already suspended for the first four games of the season, due to violation of team rules, but has know been ruled ‘academically ineligible’ and will sit out the entire year. Greg has yet to live up to the hype of his five star status coming out of high school, but he did rush for 289 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 2014 season and looked good in the spring and many people expected a break out season this year. He will still be able to practice and at this point is planning to be in classes at Notre Dame.
Tight end Mike Heuerman and linebacker Micheal Deeb have both been placed on medical scholarships, making them ineligible to play football. They will still be enrolled at Notre Dame and taking classes, in their quest of a Notre Dame degree.
This kind of news is never good news, but fall camp is about to start and as Brian Kelly has often said, “Next man in.”
